There is no shame when reaching out for help with a drug or alcohol addiction.
The unnecessary stigma that surrounds addiction, rehab and recovery has forced many struggling individuals to opt instead for risky at-home treatments, in fear of the judgement or embarrassment they may feel if they sought professional care. We don’t want this to be the way for our clients.
With us here at OK Rehab, you don’t have to feel ashamed or awkward about your situation, in fact, we’ve been there before. A large portion of our team has experienced addiction themselves in the past, so we know better than anyone what it is like to finally admit you need help and to be scared of the consequences of doing so.
That is why OK Rehab is a safe space, where you can feel comfortable discussing your addiction with our friendly and understanding admissions team. You can find the treatment you need in a positive and welcoming environment, one where you don’t need to feel embarrassed about anything.
With our help, you could soon be on your way to a full recovery in a local drug and alcohol rehab in Filton, so do not hesitate to get in contact.

The admissions process
We understand that searching for and finding suitable addiction treatment can sometimes be difficult, confusing, and downright stressful. This is why we here at OK Rehab strive to make the entire process of finding and receiving treatment for a drug or alcohol addiction as simple and easy as it can be for our clients.
We also know that time is precious during such an unpredictable time, so we work hard to ensure that appropriate treatment is found for our clients sooner rather than later.
To provide the very best care for our clients, we have them undergo a quick assessment during the admissions process. If you reach out to OK Rehab, you too will experience this evaluation once your enquiry has been processed.
This assessment focuses on you and your addiction, and aspects such as the length of time you have been using, the substance or multiple substances you have used, your method of abuse (this could be smoking, injecting, snorting, etc), and whether or not there is any known history of substance or behavioural addiction in your family.
The data gained from this assessment allows us to begin to understand you as a client. It lets us see what your personal needs for treatment are and gives us more insight into what types of facilities and methods of treatment will be most beneficial for you.
With this information, we work quickly to narrow down your options for addiction treatment and finalise our options to be presented to you.
When you have made your choice about your treatment, whether this be in a drug and alcohol rehab in Filton, an outpatient clinic, or even at home, you will embark on your personal recovery journey.
The process of rehab
If a residential rehab programme is recommended to you, it is after the admissions process and initial assessment that you will be placed in your chosen drug and alcohol rehab.
You will first have time to meet the team at your rehabilitation centre, and maybe some other patients that you will be spending time with, too. You will most likely be toured around the facility, shown your room for the next few weeks, and will have time to unpack your belongings and get settled in.
At this point you will also likely meet with a doctor who will perform a secondary assessment of you, this time delving deeper into the finer details of your mental and physical health. Again, this information will allow us to further narrow down your needs and options for treatment, meaning we can begin to create a bespoke treatment plan for you which you will follow during your time in rehab.
If you have not undergone one already, you will at this point experience a full drug and alcohol detox. Though this can be the scariest or most nerve-wracking phase of rehab for some clients, we assure you it is also one of the most crucial and necessary ones.
A detox simply works to rid your body of the substances within it, meaning you can begin the next phase of treatment on a ‘clean slate’, and your body can begin to heal from any damage that has been done in the past.
It is highly likely that during your detox you will experience one or even several withdrawal symptoms. Rest assured that these side effects of detoxing – which can include headaches, muscle pain, dizziness, fatigue and mood swings – are completely normal and are expected during this phase of treatment.
The team at your chosen rehab will be highly trained and ready to guide you through this process, and a doctor may even prescribe you medication to ease the symptoms if necessary.
After this difficult phase, it will be time to start the rest of your treatment, which will mostly be made up of various forms of therapy and counselling. Because of the bespoke treatment plans we offer here at OK Rehab, we cannot at this time detail exactly which treatments you should expect as this is decided with the help of the earlier mentioned assessments.
However, we can provide a few examples of some of the most common and popular methods of therapy, which include:
- Family therapy
- Group therapy
- Individual therapy
- Art therapy
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
- Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT)
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- and Motivation Enhancement Therapy (MET).
You may also encounter other forms of treatment such as general addiction counselling, or contingency management – a treatment that offers prizes or money as incentives for desired behaviour.
When you are ready to leave rehab, you will not be abandoned. OK Rehab will stay with you as long as you need advice, guidance, or even additional appointments at an outpatient clinic near you if necessary. We will also provide you with a detailed aftercare plan that will support you throughout your adjustment period.
Of course, even though we are able to offer help and support, the bulk of the responsibility to continue your improvement will now have fallen to you. Keep an eye out for any further signs and symptoms of a relapse, and try to break out of old routines that may have led you to substance use in the past.
Remember, we are only a phone call away if you do need us once more.
