DRS operates five program divisions with more than 25 programs which served 82,787 Oklahoman with disabilities in 2019.

Commission Meeting by Video Conference

The public is invited to use Zoom to attend the Commission for Rehabilitation Services’ meeting at 10:30 a.m. on Monday April 13, 2020.

Telework

Governor Kevin Stitt declared a state emergency caused by the threat of COVID-19 on March 19, 2020, and directed state agencies to relocate employees in order to balance their safety and welfare while continuing to provide critical services to the citizens of Oklahoma.

Building Closures

Currently, DRS buildings are closed to the public to protect the health and safety of clients and staff. Staff are teleworking and have forwarded their office phones to cell phones and will return messages. Or, if forwarding is not possible, recorded messages will provide more information.

  • Oklahoma Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped continues to mail audio books at no charge to Oklahomans who are blind or not able to use standard print due to disabilities and provides braille, large-print textbooks and assistive devices to Oklahoma students in kindergarten through 12th grade.

  • The State Board of Education voted to close school buildings and cancel extracurricular activities for the rest of the 2019-2020 school year. Distance learning will begin on April 6 to ensure that students have opportunities to learn and grow academically

    Cancelled: Spring VIBE training at OKC Shepherd Mall for weeks of April 6th and April 20th. Future VIBE training will be scheduled and clients notified when we feel it is safe to conduct group training.
